After utter dominance at the SA and NSW state championships, Blacks sculler Chris Morgan had to be content with silver in the Open Mens Single Scull, after his historic Gold in the same event last year. This was followed by medals in the double and quad.
Peta White won and was disqualified due to a light boat (on questionable scales) and got her revenge in the best way possible, by winning again. Renee Chatterton had a mixed campaign. Matt Bolt , Ned Kinnear and Tom Game joined Chris Morgan in the SA crew for the race for the Kings Cup, which saw them take bronze behind very quick crews from NSW and VIC. Peta drove the SA to silver in the interstate womens youth eight, while Lachlan Ward was in the SA crew for the interstate mens youth eight, where bronze was in the offing but proved a step too far. We wish Chris, Peta and Renee the best of luck at the imminent selection regatta. |
