AUBC is committed in providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our members to enjoy rowing and get the most out of the sport.

AUBC adopts the policies of our umbrella organisations - Adelaide Uiversity Sport, Rowing South Australia and Rowng Australia - unless stated otherwise.

For a list of our policies, inclding code of conduct, member protection, child safe policies, drug and alocohol, safety etc, please follow the links below.

History of AUBC

Historical overview of the Adelaide University Boat Club

 

The Adelaide University Boat Club was founded on August 4th, 1881, two weeks after the opening of Torrens Lake.  It was the second university boat club in Australia; Melbourne’s was founded in 1860 and Sydney’s in 1885 (although Sydney University men had rowed with Sydney Rowing Club as early as 1860, which SUBC claim as their foundation date).
